Stoker, Vernon Class Officer, 4, Hi-Y, 2-3- 4, Hi-Y Officer, 3, Orchestra l-2-3-4, Band, l-2-3-4 Class Play, 4. 1 September, l939, found us 94 strong under the leadership of Miss Ann Alban. On December l, we held our first social function of the year, a class party with all the trimmins'. At lastl After lO long years we had reached Sr, High School, Upper Classmen recognized in Scholarship and deed in the classroom and on the field. Miss Neumeister guided us, directing our Sophomore officers and class. The gold star event of the year's activities, socially, was the Thanksgiving Party on November 29. The success of this venture was evident in the pleasurable event of the evening. Mr. Wolfe and Mrs. Tucker assumed sponsorship of our Junior class and led us to the completion of a profitable year, financially and socially. Our men upheld the traditions of U.S.H.S. on the gridiron and hardwood, while our feminine charms sold the 'goods' responsible for financing the feting of the departing seniors in a Junior-Senior Prom. Highlighting the year's activity was the first Junior Class play in three years, What A Life. We have now reached the top rung of the ladder to High School success, seniors. Miss Stearns and Mr. Assenheimer were jointly in charge of our class. The party of the year, as a class, celebrated All Fool's Day in a hilarious and entertaining manner, dancing to the music of our own U.S.H.S. 'Swinga- roos.' On May Zl, the Juniors entertained us royally with a prom. The presentation of Hot Water Henry crowned the glories of Senior activities on April l6. In every sport, every class, every social event of the past memorable four years the names of the members of the class of '43 will be outstanding. We leave this book as a parting token of remembrance and take this opportunity to express our appreciation to all those responsible for our success. The best of luck to you future graduating classes of our Alma Mater, U.S.H.S.
