We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation and gratitude ro Mrs. Hoffman, who has not only been a fine advisor, but who has also made it possible to successfully pub- lish the Boreas for the past five years. We, the class of 1968, wish to dedicate this, the 34th edition of the Boreas, to Mrs. Moore, our advisor, who, in the last four years, has given us guidance and understanding. We are sorry that this is Mrs. Moore's last year of teaching because the upcoming classes will be deprived of a great teacher, "storyteller", and friend. 'T 1 . arulig MRS. PERKINS Home Ec . F. H.A. AN AUTUMN WALK As I walk along the beaten path, The trees are like giants, And I a tiny elf among the Many arms of the trees. The arms bear no leaves now, For they have nodded to earlier travelers. Now as I walk, the crackle of dead leaves is heard. The sun makes only knife-like shadows When it shines through the bare trees As if to frighten me when I walk. AG' SHADOWS Shadows found resting beneath a tree, Or fading from evening into night, Are seen in stillness or in racing shapes, Or causing happiness, solitude or leaping hearts. Shadows of the night that lie in wait, That silently watch the strangers pass by, Then linger in the paths just crossed, Are shadows that make the darkness alive. The daytime shadows live a different life, They are always alert and ready, To be the partner of some dancing child - Then quickly melt away in the breeze. 5 4. ,I .
