MEMOIRS OF DAVEY JONES LOCKER Since there is no more future to the class of '36 at Arlington, we take up the task of writing its history. Out of the forty who started in the first grade at Arlington only thirteen have received their entire education in these halls. These thirteen veterans are- Genevieve Denbow, Norma Luebker, Betty Morgan. Martha Snouffer, Vivian Tripp, Janet King, Jim Hayhurst, Oliver Hord, Reid Allen, Dean Palmer, Bill Schenk, Fred Stamm, and Joe Ryan. The following persons were officers during our sojourn in high school: Freshman-Dean Palmer, President, Joe Ryan, Vice-President, Elizabeth Mar- tin, Secretaryg Jimmy Walker, Treasurer. Sophomore-Dean Palmer, President, Frank Howe, Vice-President, Jeanne Shaffer, Secretaryg Jim Hayhurst, Treas- urer. Junior'-Frank Howe, President, Bill Schenk, Vice-President: Jean Love, Secretary, Jeanne Shaffer, Treasurer. Senior-Dean Palmer, President, Dix Reeves, Vice-President, Peggy Sellers, Secretary, Justin Jones and Bob Adair, Treasurers. During four years in high school, this class took its place very capably in all school functions. The girls represented the class in the G. A. A. and girls' basketball, which was discontinued after our freshman year. The boys upheld its honor in football, basketball, track, tennis, and golf. Both the boys and girls represented the class on the Hi-Log staff and on the Scholarship Team. This class also was outstanding socially. The first social event of our class was the Sophomore Hop. The next event of any importance was the Junior- Senior dinner dance, which, without a doubt surpassed any yet given. Next came Krazy Kapers, the first event of the Senior year, this too, outclassed those put on before it. The credit for this is' due to the various committees and those taking part in it, who worked tirelessly to make it a success. The Senior Class play came next and this too set a standard to keep future classes on their toes. Our last social event of high school was the Senior-Junior dance which was such a success that it will be difficult to equal it. Naturally, all the members think our class is far superior to any that has departed before us. Let us not forget the debt of gratitude that is due our faculty for the assistance they have given us in the successful completion of our high school course. ' JOE RYAN. THE CLASS WILL OF I'-736 We, the Class of Nineteen Hundred and Thirty-six, do hereby and forth- with state and publish these vices and virtues as our last will and testament, and solemnly bestow them upon our underclassmen: Jeanne Gardner wills her giggle to Shirley Overbeck. Jim Wilson bestows his genuine golden locks upon Helen Drayer. Oliver Hord leaves his loving-cup ears to John 0'Brien. Janet King bequeaths her Mae West air to Beverly Gabrio, Bill Schenk leaves his prowess in basketball to Hank Dowdy. Frank Howe gives himself to Donna Lee. Kay Franks leaves Pete Hershberger to those jealous Sophomore babes. Bob Snyder wills his he gambled a three cent stamp physique to Harold McBride. Page Sezeuteen
