It is because of this all-pervasive spirit—rather than the cotie's few rigid rules— that our honor system has been termed 'the highest expression in the United States of the undergraduate's capacity for self-government in the sphere of ethical conduct.’ it is this great moral force, exerted in many tangible ways and having many visible effects, that has caused our University to l»e termed a place where 'honor begets honor, trust begets trust, and faith begets faith.'
