STARS At UTC Q4 . . X XL ..'V, 5, The Student Terminal Assisted Registra tion System QSTARSJ was implemented at UTC for the spring semester's registra- tion. The innovative new program is expected to completely replace the former system of pre-registration, confirmation, and Regis- tration Day, by confirming student sched- ules at the same time the student registers. Also, monitors outside the registration center served to keep students informed of which classes were closed, cancelled or added. Despite long lines that sometimes formed during the two-week registration period and a few minor problems with the new equipment, student response to STARS seemed to have been very favorable. . ..,. . .-g:3.,?f2a'?'f-' 'fm-- -'-'fag-'Q 1 -J 1 ff 3512: ,.gf:?:5Q,1R1v.,.s.. The second portion of that year will, hopefully, come to life in the summer supplement and the year will be complete. This is the way the MOCCASIN staff saw 1976-77. You viewed it from a different perspective and may well remember it differently. Our aim was to set to pictures and words events which most observers at U.T.C. would have seen during these several months, events which should trigger your memory and enable you to fill in the gaps with your personal recollections of friends and experiences . There are those who just can't be left unthanked if justice is to prevail ultimately. Diane Stocker, the dean behind the scene, has served for the last few years as our Administrative Advisor. What this essentially means is that Diane tells us what we can afford, what wehave to do, and somehow manages to catch up all the loose ends that fall through our hands, thereby averting tragedy. Another who ought -to be thanked especially is Alan Vandergriff, who ignored classes to shoot pictures when we were so far behind schedule that the final deadline looked like it would be met sometime around the coming of the New jerusalem. But he worked hard fmotivated possibly by more than love of filthy lucrej and this book finally , made it to print. Thanks also to a devoted and well- loved staff who finally did something besides play cards .
