KAPPA ALPHA MU Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Mu, national fraternity in pictorial journalism, was established at Missouri during Journal- ism Week, 1945. Members are selected on a basis of achievement in photography courses offered in the School of Journalism. The purpose of the organization is to gain due recognition of pictorial journalism as a distinct professional branch and to promote fellowship between present and prospective photographers. KAM sponsored the na- tional collegiate competition and 50 print show which was inaugurated in 1946 as a part of Journalism Week. Entries are re- ceived from all over the country and the contest has attracted wide attention. KAM also brings outstanding members of the pro- fession to the various chapters as speakers and promotes local photographic projects. ' OFFICERS President . . . BROOKS HONEYCUTT Vice-President . E. B. H. are to preserve and maintain the honored traditions and deep moral functions of the University. Because the organization is not in competi- tion with any other group, and because Q. E. B. H. is author- ized to elect to membership any upper classman in good stand- ing who in the eyes of the chapter has passed the test of loyalty to the Alma Mater, it is rightly designated an Honor Society., The formation of this Senior honor society brought to realization the unselfish ideals and principles of 'a group of men who were sincerely devoted to their school. This fall Q. E. B. H. began its forty-eighth year of service to the Uni- versity of Missouri. The society will always maintain the ideals and aims and continue to give service to the University.
