SCHOOL of FORESTRY Director Albert D. Nutting Loblolly? The School of Forestry is one of two in the College of Agriculture. Offering a Bachelor of Science degree, the school is composed of two programs, General Forestry and Wildlife Management. In addition to a well rounded cur- riculum of class room studies, the students are required to have two months of forestry field work in their sophomore year and two field trips at the end of the junior year. A school since 1958, Home Eco- nomics is composed of five subject matter categories: Clothing and De- sign, Child Development, Foods and Nutrition, Home Economics Educa- tion, and Home Management and Housing. The girls who enter this school are those who plan on work- ing as teachers, dietitians, or social workers, or going into industry. COLLEGE of ARTS and SCIENCES Dean Joseph M. Murray The College of Arts and Sciences attempts to provide its students with an utilitarian training while at the same time stressing the importance of a cultural background. All of its students are required to have completed courses in several of the thirteen departments in addition to extensive work in a specific field. An honors program consisting of tutorial courses leads to the highest academic recognition offered by the college. Students completing the pro- gram graduate with Honors, High Honors, or Highest Honors. In cooperation with the College of Education, Arts and Sciences students may receive teaching certificates.
