Here, the financial wiz- ards and their loyal crew devote their several and sundry efforts to managing the many and diverse transactions so nec- essary to successful and continued opera- tion. Seldom very spectacular, but always efficient, the men behind the scenes con- tribute as much as any professor to our education. Treasurer of the University is one of the most responsible positions in the ad- ministrative system. Many years ' loyal service has established the fitness of Fred- erick S. Youngs for this important post. He is ably assisted in his so many duties by Chief Accountant Irving Pierce and a ■ large staff. Henry L. Significant this year has been his outstanding steering of the Union Building Drive. Registrar James A. Gannett is another officer who func- tions in many key operations. KLTON K. WIEMAN DEAN OF MEN KDITH G. WILSON DEAN OF WOMEN Closest to the students in point of pei- sonal contact are the Dean ot Men and the Dean of Women. In their hands a major portion of tlie responsibility for student ' s guidance rests. 7o no other administrative officers is the student ' s welfare so important. Biggest job of all is that held by Dean Elton E. Wieman. In his first full year on this campus he has had to direct the activities of nearly three thousand men. In addition to his other functions he serves as Director of Physical Education and Athletics. Lindsay Chalmers, Manager of Dormi- tories, represents the Business Staff in the student ' s immediate interests. Major duties of his department are feeding and housing over three thousand students. The interests of women students are supervised and guided by their ver ca- pable Dean, Edith G. Wilson. She acts as general adviser to all University wom- en, and specifically to Women ' s Student Government and the Panhellenic Coim- cil. The student ' s health is Dr. Robert C. Cornell ' s chief worry. As Director of the University Health Service he has a finger on every student ' s pulse. Assistant to the Dean of Men, Rol ert Worrick also fills an important post in the system.
