' Ihis year, over 12.000 rural residents have contrihuted money to ])romote the Extension Service jirogram. Of this numher. over 9(XX) di-monstrate and recom- mend the improved ])ractices to their neighhors. Three hundred sixty-one towns of Maine are completely organized and following a program which the residents luive planned in coopt-ration with ICxtension agents. While most of the Extension agents have their headipiarlers within their re- s])ective counties, a few state leaders and state s] ecialists are located at the Univer- sity. . pproved information is disseminated among men and women hy demonstra- tions, meetings. ])ersf nal visits, puhlications. the ])ress. and the radio.
