championship away from all the decent sized colleges and universities in this hemisphere—from Cornell, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania, and a dozen others. Wc may well be proclaimed champions of the world in cross-country, for no college, no university, can dispute our title. YYe went without our vacation Thanksgiving and ate our turkey without the usual and familiar Thanksgiving surroundings. The Junior Assembly helped pass away a few hours before Christmas and then we journeyed home to adorn our native heaths for fifteen days or so. Did you ever think we would get that ice rink? Out back of W inslow Hall a place has been located where the water refuses to drain oil. but stands docile until frozen. Result? Our hockey rink. It is here at last! Mid-year exams, final exams, we arc sorry to say, for some of our number, came during the last few days of January, and thus closed the year historically as far as the Prism is concerned. The year has been a wonderful year, wonderful in many ways. W e have won victories, we have progressed. W'e have met defeats and met them man- fully. We have kept burnished ever brightly and we have attempted to live up to the line that describes the meaning, the theme of our true Maine spirit, “Fair play, and may the best man win! May this Maine spirit guide us on our path thru life. Dear, loved Maine, this year shall be a pleasant year and a profitable year on the tablets of our memories !
