Approximately 84 girls went through formal rush August 23-28. Fifty-seven pledged the houses of their choice. There are three sororities at CSU, Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Zeta, and Sigma Kappa. Sorority members conducted tours as the rushees saw the houses for the first time Open House Night. The Alpha Gams invited rushees to come aboard the U.S.S. AGD. Cruise director was rush chairman Tami Peters. The DZ's gave free Turtle Tours with turtles Karen Herrington, Wendy Winn, and Linda Looper leading the way. The Sig Kaps turned their house into a three- ring circus with clowns Candace Bona- dio and Nancy Bresnahan guiding those tours. Theme Night, the Sig Kaps turned their house into a 1920's Speakeasy complete with flappers and a Model T. The DZ's had Delta Zeta: The Best Brand as their western-flavored theme complete with hay bales, hitching posts, and the Turtle Shell Saloon. The Alpha Gams took rushees on a nostalgic trip back through time to the different eras C1910-805 and their music, cars, and cos- tumes. The serious side was shown during Preference Night. Sorority girls lit can- dles, sang songs, and talked earnestly with the rushees. Rushees left, clutch- ing flowers, to go back to the University Center to make a decision that would affect the rest of their lives. Bid House Day, rushees were greeted by the members at the Y-Chapel. They then went to their new homes with their new sisters for the first real time.
