Padded '4 Central State College is beginning its second half century. It is now more than fifty years since the institution began. The students in attendance at this time are beginning to make history for the institution in its second fifty year cycle. The first half century is history and recorded. These years belong to the ages and now exist in the memory of those who attended during that period as well as in the records left. What a world of service rendered by this institution during this first fifty year period! Let us hope that we will see the beginning of another fifty year period in which even better service to the great Commonwealth of Oklahoma may be maintained. As this book goes to press, we find the world in a period of emergency. I have every reason to believe that the student body of Central State College feels the same way about this situation that is before us. We can come out of this period of anxiety and danger only by each individual doing the very best, that thing for which he is most capable. We do this in a spirit of service and this book does, represent all of this.
