lF4UlllfllEIWlflDlflLlUD HN all of the varied and interesting experiences that go to make life, there are none quite so unique as those peculiar to college life. It is here where character is rapidly taking form, it is here where ideals are the guiding stars in the heavens, and it is during this period of life that thousands of young people suddenly become conscious of the fact that they are endowed with the traits and responsibilities of manhood and womanhood. With these new realizations come new hopes, new inspirations, and new ambitions with correspondingly increased efforts and accomplishments. If, in the future, this book shall help its readers to remember the fundamental prin- ciples about which their college life took formgif by preserving the inspirations of the past, it intensifies those of the future, if, by explaining the principles and conditions which directed certain lives in a particular direction, it helps to clarify and instil confidence in the future purposes of those lives, if, by preserving the past, it helps to inspire and direct the future, then it shall have accomplished its primary purpose.
