Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs Educational opportunity is increased Dr. A. E. Burdick, Vice President for Academic and Instructional Affairs and Dean of Faculties, was instrumental in bringing about the reorganization of the academic structure of the College and the estab- Iishment of new programs. Both developments are designed to increase the educational opportunities of the students. Dr. Burdick found it gratifying to have the expanding role of the College recognized by the accrediting associations. With the establishment of the Southwest Center for Staff Development in Early Childhood Education and the School for Health Sciences, State College of Arkansas is enabling the student to select from sixty- four baccalaureate programs, nineteen masters pro- grams, and fourteen special areas of study. Many new programs will be added in the near future. ln the administrative reorganization of the Col- lege which became effective July l, 1969, the Busi- ness Affairs of the College were placed under the di- rection of Mr. Harold D. Eidson, Vice President for Business and Finance. Position of Comptroller was added to the staff. Responsibilities of this area in- clude planning for new, much-needed facilities for the future. Auxiliary enterprises of the College are supervised by personnel from this area. William C. Norman, member of the Board of Trustees, speaks at the Faculty and Staff Awards Banquet. ,

Pate, Coordinator for Public Affairs and Assistant to the President, serves as an administra- tive assistant of the college on a number of commit- tees to furnish information and reports to the Com- mission on Coordination of Higher Education. In addition, he has served as official representative to welcome a variety of conferences and workshops held on campus. Frank Koon was named to the newly established position of Coordinator for Student Affairs. Working with the directors of various services, he coordinates and supervises those services of the College most immediately concerned with student life. These in- clude: public relations, student housing, food ser- vices, student activities and organizations, dean of men, dean of women, financial aid, student center ac- tivities, placement, student health services, campus traffic and security, and athletics.
