Registration is busy time for Business Office employees. Admissions Office reports early registration for freshmen proved to be highly successful. More students were admitted than in any other time in the college's history. Research Department says grants from the United States Office of Education will permit the college to establish The Southwest Staff Develop- ment Center. This Center will permit the college to train leadership personnel in early childhood and special education. It also provides a means to research education strategies which can stimulate students to enhance their learning skills. The Center will be assisted by organizations within and without the State of Arkansas. W. H. Hudson Business Manager Administrative Secretary Assistant Business Manager Business Office CA expands facilities for future Business Manager Harold Eidson says SCA has added, or is in the process of adding the follow- ing: Carmichael Hall for 250 women, Hughes Hall for 252 men and Elizabeth Christian cafeteria to seat approximately 400. Meadors Hall was reno- vated into the Military Science Building, new tennis courts were constructed, the driveway north of Student Center was closed. SCA added sidewalks, fenced the football stadi- um, moved the baseball field, developed a parade ground and practice area and added to sewer line to equalize pressure between the two main sewer outlets. Bruce Street was extended for a block. Business Office purchased and installed equip- ment in all new facilities, converted two class- rooms into Psychology department, purchased property adjacent to the President's Home, fenced Maintenance department, added 30 Mobile Homes, converted two storage areas into an office for the Dean of Women and extended curb, gutter, streets, and parking facilities in areas of the new buildings. In the area of Bookstore enterprises SCA increased services to accommodate the increase in enrollment. His office serves all students through its program of guidance and coun- seling on both individual and group bases, and keeps a calendar of all social, cultural, and athletic events. Public Appearances, of which he is chairman, presented El Trio Romantico, National Players Presentation of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Woodwind Quin- tet, Danish Gym Team and Lily gg Peter, poet. Residence halls, mobile homes and apartment contracts, room assignments, supervision of head residents, and questions con- cerning housing are handled in his office. Campus traffic and security come under his supervision.
