Attempting to be congenial with their society is found difficult by the symbolic characters in The Bald Soprano. The Bald Soprano Erupted in Brilliant Colors The Bald Soprano erupted with a brilliant setting of red, green, yellow, and orange. The play, directed by Gloria Link, presented society as a confusing mass of individuals helplessly trying to communicate with others. Angus MacDonald assumed the role of Smith. Mrs. Smith, his typical English wife, was played by Karen Krause. This anti-play pivoted around a visit to the Smiths by the Martens. Mark Marino was cast as Marten and Judith Schultz as Mrs. Marten. 29 Mrs. Marten, portrayed by Judith Schultz, contemplates the problems of being an individual.

28 WSU-O Drama Department Throws The Birthday Party Goldberg and McCanr interrogated Stanley with a sea of absurb questions. The lights went out. A flashlight boam revealed Lulu, sprawled on a table after a scene of madnoss. Harold Pinter's absurd mystery. The Birthday Party. premiered the WSU-O Drama Department theater season. Directed by Don Burdick, the production revolved around the personalities, pasts and pretentions of the characters. Meg, the simpering Cockney landlady, was portrayed by Jeannie Bongle. Dale Klitzke took the part of the misfit Stanley. John Bierman and Jake Laks played the two villains who unmercilessly tortured Stanley and completed the madness present.

A firm qrip and encouraging squeeze now and then can do wonders for the morale. The anticipation was half of the battle. Many fortunate people will receive new life from the 732 pints of blood collected during the Alpha Phi Omega-American Red Cross Blood Drive held October 21-24. Through the service of numerous campus organizations and with the help of the 831 people who gave of their time for the chance to give the gift of life ... blood ... the quota of 568 was met and surpassed. For the persons who were rejected for various reasons and for the 10,000 students who couldn't make it for many more reasons, the Blood Drive was also on campus April 21-24. 1969. One of the many preliminary steps was a blood sample. The prick of a needle and a grimace of pain were all part of the routine. The best port of the ordeal, besides the feeling of satisfaction, was the food served afterward and an escapo from Ma Crown. 30
