"Whole Earth" supplies people with organically grown foods, "Natures Bakery" or "Sunflower Kitchen" bakesthem into fresh breads, "Green Lantern" prepares meals for their mob, and one of 222 Langdon's 7 regular and 2 assistant cooks prepares dinner for their family, while "Madison Commu- nity Co-operatives" keeps them all working together. Honor systems and individual accep- tance of responsibility are the bases for the organization, and entrance into co-op living is a personal commitment dependant upon participation, and co-operation with the "family" to maintain the organization. 69 and not everybody always co-operates Willingness to participate, to co- operate, to live with, work with, share with people . . . a new variation on an old theme. ,-. There are in the quiet recesses of the classrooms, those who are devoted to that which is the University's prime function - teaching, and the stimulation of the student toward an aquisition of knowledge. Here are no flags, no trumpets, no Daily Cardinal activist essays destroying, martyring character, no virtuoso performances, no registration clamor for admission, just a quiet attainment of permanence, stability in the recesses of each students mind. This is a tribute to Robert Phillips, Engineering Graphic 101, and all the many 'unsung heroes' like him. Teaching Assistants, indespensible, unsung heroes with long hours and menial pay yet provided with the privilege to understudy the part of professor.
