and Expanded Wisconsin Of direct benefit to present students have been new classroom and stadium developments. In the new Engineering Building ' s well lighted and spacious rooms many cla sses arc now held. This building was finished at Camp Randall in 1951. Seniors and students have also had a chance to see the new 8,000 seat addition to Camp Randall Stadium in use during the 1951 gridiron season. While these directly student used structures have been built, important additions to the Wis- consin General Hospital have also occurred. New wings to the hospital were completed in 1952, and a $538,000 hospital remodelling program is now in operation. A related constructit:)n to Wis- consin General is the Intern Residents Dormitory hich is now rising near the hospital to supply needed living quarters for interns. A one and one half million dollar Hygiene Laboratory paid for bv the Stare Department of Health is being con- structed on Linden Drive. The imposing Veteran ' s Administration Hospital on the far west end of the Lhiiversitv was completed in 1951. These buildings are examples of state and federal funds employed in financing campus building. Also under construction at present on the cam- pus is the familiar Memorial Library on the lower campus, a Chemical-Engineering Building at Camp llandall, and a new Home Economics Wing. With the completion of these projects in the near future a long stride will have been taken in meeting expanded student needs. From the construction of the WARP Head- quarters to the completion of additions to the Wisconsin General Hospital, the University long range building program has firmly established itself. What building ' 52 ' s class has seen will undoubtedly be seen in other forms by succeeding classes if present plans are realized. What will eventually result from all this building will be a much enhanced L niversity of Wisconsin well equipped to plav the leading role it always has in the development of better minds among its students. The Class of 1952 has been fortunate to see the beginnings of the building program and to share in some of its benefits. h: ' mM cm w
