Goodfellov Vice-President THE DESIRE of the Alumni Association is to old the University to reach unattained objectives, to secure greater recognition, and to serve the country in a more splendid manner. Membership in the association aids it to initiate long-term projects of importance to the University, the develop- ment of the Foundation for Research at the University of Washington, Inc. , class reunions, homecomings and other Alumni festivities. The Alumni Association is expanding. In January, Mrs. Edith Korres was appointed assistant secretary, a newly created position to take care of the women ' s alumnae groups In the interest of a stronger and more unified Alumni association. The Quarterback Club, colled Washington Club in the Sky, atop the Camlin Hotel, was opened by a group of Washington Alumni. A series of popular Sunday evening firesides have been held at the Faculty Club. Dean Newhouse Director of Office of Student Affoirs INCREASE IN THE SIZE of the student body brought numerous new problems to the Office of Student Affairs, which likes to call itself the Students ' Unofficial Attorney. This added load called for a staff increase. An important change was made when the Veterans ' Administration was brought into OSA. This eliminated the tendency to place veterans in a separate section of the student government. Another addition to the staff was the Counselor to Foreign Students. Helens.
