' Overwhelming the Visitors ' " Texas . . . Fight " echoed continually throughout Memorial Stadium this year. Intr oduced by the UT cheerleaders at the Boston College game, the stadium yell became the battle cry of many Longhorn fans. Spec- tators sitting on the Stadium ' s east side would shout " Texas, " and the west side would retort " Fight. " Students, alumni and Texas enthusiasts were spurred to participate in the cheer by the excitement which filled the stadium during each football game. " If everyone participates, the yell can be deafening, " cheerleader Scott Campbell said. To the opposing team, the cry created an early feeling of defeat by " overwhelming the visitors.
