WE ARE MANY BUT WE ARE ONE Several of the 450 or so student organizations enriched community life. The oldest UT service organization. The Texas Cowboys, was named Out- standing Organization for 1977 by the Austin Association of Retarded Citi- zens. Alpha Phi Omega service frater- nity sponsored two campus blood drives. The Red Ryder Preservation Society, raised more than $ 1 ,000 for the Wild Basin Wilderness Park.

v ' ' ' - ' -- I THE UNIVERSITY . . . SHOULD OCCUPY GROUND AS HIGH . . . More than 115 buildings comprised the physical plant of The University of Texas. A 10 minute walk across cam- pus was a 10 minute lesson in a century of architecture. Several buildings of the 120-year-old Little Campus fell prey to a wrecking ball, while new concrete giants, the Special Events Center and the Perry-Castaneda Library, loomed in the background.
