Five Dates Sei For Grad Exam Educational Testing Service announced today that under- graduates and others preparing to go to graduate school may take the Graduate Record Ex- aminations on any of six dif- ferent test dates during this academic year. THE first GRE testing date is October 25. Scores from this administration will be re- ported to the graduate schools before December l. Students planning to register for the Oct- ober test are advised that ap- plications received by ETS after October '7 will incur a 33.00 late registration fee. The Volette Dianne Craff and Bill Cate, co-editors, head the staH of thC UTM weekly newspaper The Volette. The paper, with Hnancial support from the student activities fund and local advertisers, is distributed free. It focuses on campus news :md aims at objective coverage of anything newsworthy. Carl H. Giles, Assistant Professor of English and Journalism and widely-published author, is faculty advisor, Key members on the staff of thirty are Susan Irby and Patti Field, news editors, Barry Eysman and Barbara Stockdale, feature editors, Dan Channell and Ralph Costantino, sports editors, and Crawford Gallimore, business manager. 7.37.

Band Under the direction of Robert C. Fleming, the University's three bands enliven campus activities the year around. The University Marching Band, which requires enough stamina to exempt its members from P.E., is the largest group and the group seen at football games. Members must have had previous band experience to qualify. The UTM Pep Band appears at basketball games, while the University Symphonic Band, which is also open to all experienced musicians but which requires auditions for chair positions, focuses on standard and contemporary band literature. In addition to these three, the Phi Mu Alpha Stage Band plays for dances and gives concerts, and the ROTC Band rehearses at drill time and performs on special military occasions. 134
