“ART BUCHWALD Art Buchwald has been called the most comic observer of the European scene since Mark Twain. His humorous columns for the Herald- Tribune syndicate appear in nearly 100 news- papers from Oregon to Israel. While at U S C , he was managing editor of the now defunct, but never-to-be-forgotten cam- pus humor magazine, Wampus. He was also a columnist for the Daily Trojan, and even tried his hand at writing a variety show, No Love Atoll. Mr. Buchwald left Troy in 1948 and went to Paris where he became a correspondent for Vari- ety magazine. Since then, he has worked princi- pally out of Paris. Besides his newspaper features, he has pub- lished several books and collections of his col- lumns, including A Gift From the Boys, Paris After Dark, Art Buchwald ' s Paris, I Choose Caviar, More Caviar, and Don ' t Forget to Write.
