1929 0 amd: is ' !!t', Q ,f MEGA chapter of DELTA SIGMA PHI, international social fraternity, began as a local, ALPHA PHI, in 1913, and received its charter from the international organization three years later. The ALPHA chapter was founded at the College of the City of New York in 1889. DELTA SIGMA PHI now has fifty chapters at leading American colleges, and a chapter at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, making it an international fraternity. The OMEGA chapter played host to the national convention of DELTA SIGMA PHI at the Wm. Penn Hotel the past December. 145 N. Craig Street Page 149 J' ' i I

lax 4 1929 1 owl. ELTA TAU DELTA originated at Bethany College in 1859. The oldest existing chapter is the GAMMA chapter at Washington and Jefferson College. DELTA TAU DELTA entered Pitt as IOTA chapter in 1864, and was re-established as ETA BETA chapter in 1878. ln 1879, when W. U. P. placed a ban on fraternities, DELTA TAU DELTA disappeared, not to return until 1914 when ALPHA ALPHA, a local founded in 1904, became GAMMA SIGMA chapter of DELTA TAU DELTA. 4712 Bayard Street 'ii ffifa iff if -3.
