There is more to L ni ersity goxernnient than a series of lilies laid down by administrators and faculty. The voice of the University State ' s student citizens has a vital, efifective place in its operation. From the time we gathered in Freshman Con- vocation until our last assembly at Commencement Exercises, we find dozens of group opportunities for taking part in this government. Jointly and individually our voice is heard. It comes not only in roars from the crowd at a football game. It is heard in student newspapers, through stiulent and University radio stations. It makes its effect in student ballot boxe.s — the elections of Student Senators and the deliberation of those Sen- ators. It sounds through active organizations like the A.ssocia- tion of Women Students, the Independent Men ' s A.s.sociation, the Interfraternity Council. The voice ot the governed is a necessary sound in government as we know it. And so it is in this State-Within- A-State of ours.
