DR. JCI-lN C. WEAVER President, University of Missouri Dr. John C. Weaver assumed the duties of the president of the University of Mis- souri system in September of 1965. Dr. Weaver took his AB., M.A., and his PhD. in geography at the University of Wisconsin. After completing his doctorate, he worked as an editor and researcher for the Ameri- can Geographical Society of New York. l-lis charts on ice movement in the Northern Hemisphere are still in use on ships today. From 1955 to 1955 he held a number of administrative positions at Kansas State University, the University of Nebraska, the University of lovva, and Ohio State University. ln an interview with the Kansas City Star, in January of 1967, Dr. Weaver said that the University of Missouri at Kansas City can hope to solve the problems of Metropolitan Kansas City, and that he has a commitment to see that a strong urban university is built here. l-le also has a special interest in seeing the development of a good program in continuing education.
