Dr Randall Whaley Began As Chancellor of UMKC f Chancellor Randall McVay Whaley is a native of Hastings, Nebraska. After at- tending Indiana University and the University of Chicago, he received his PhD. degree from Purdue University in 1947. At Purdue he became associate dean of the School of Science, Education and Humanities. Dr. Whaley then spent two years in Washington, D.C., as executive director of the Advisory Board on Education of the National Academy of Sciences Research Council. In 1960, he was appointed vice- president for Graduate Studies and Research at Wayne State University. Dr. Whaley is presently serving his first year as Chancellor of UMKC.
