LF! 3,4 -ga. F' ,ii 3 1 REGISTRATION The predominate color was red. Registration meant miles of red tape-a necessary evil when enrolling masses of students. Long red arrows drawn on the floor indicated line positions-long, slow-moving lines. These winding chains criss-crossed the registration area and presented an endurance test, a confusing maze, to students who had to complete the course. Red pencils, marking up neatly filled- in forms at the periodical review stations, caught errors. Errors meant the inevitable chastisement-a second trip through a line. The first time through a line required patience. The second time, when required, called for real self-discipline. Red faces were in evidence--sometimes angry because of a misunderstanding or annoyed over a careless mistake. One final shade of red was visible. Red rimmed eyes, tired from lack of sleep and tired of pro- cessing hundreds of bewildered students belonged to the people who helped conduct registration. We finished registration and moved on. We were a student body.
