invo to influence or affect; emotionally committed; connected by participation or association by Julie Wong We all begin our college journey in hopes of defining ourselves. Some of us have an idea of who we want to be, while others desire to redefine their identities completely. Nonetheless, Ole Miss offers us the great opportunity to define ourselves in terms of others by being involved. From honorary societies and student government to recreational organizations and student media, Ole Miss campus organizations give us an array of choices to find our niche, feel a part of an important cause, to discover a sense of belonging. Though we are constantly striving to maintain a sense of individuality, gaining membership into an organization allows us to be true to ourselves while forming emotional ties and interacting with other students that have attitudes just like us, students that believe in accomplishing goals, celebrating our achievements, promoting community growth, and understanding our diversity. Through campus involvement, we find ourselves moving beyond self-interests and becoming more compassionate. In the process of voicing our exuding our own passions, we find ourselves working toward the objectives and aspirations of an entire group, a group, which you are a part of. Involvement in campus organizations furthers our potential to be future leaders and role models of our society. Being involved, we are able to define who we are. organizati ons 1-f
