r. Williams, a native of Newport, Kentucky, entered his Fresh- man Year al- the University with vigor and a thorough understanding of all the tasks that confronted him. He has met the challenge of increased enrollment and its related complexities in a highly effi- cient manner. One year of his administration has warranted us successful guidance for the future years. Gaining a reputation as a friend and advisor to all, he makes time for the little things, the minute details, the student ' s problems. Chancellor Williams received his A.B. degree from the University of Kentucky in 1926; M.S., Uni- versity of Kentucky, 1930; Ed.D., Columbia University, 1940; and was president of Marshall College at Huntington, West Virginia, before coming to Ole Miss. Chancellor Williams is a member of Omi- cron Delta Kappa, Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Sigma Kappa, the Rotary Club, the Masons, and the Methodist Church. J 7:11) WP,LIAMS 21
