Dr. Brown drafts some French students. Contrary to many of the theories advanced in regard to absent-minded professors, boorish deans, and obdurate officials, the professors at the Uni- versity are real people-warm, friendly, and help- ful, working and playing with the students-not as superiors, but as equals. In some colleges the PROFS professor eyes the student with contempt for his untrained intellect, and the student glares back with repugnance at his cold inhumanity, but Ole Miss not only maintains a reputation for friend- liness and graciousness among the students, but Non-Feaso 3 4 l fs i s Dean Shaw confers with Mr. Chuck. among the students and faculty members as well. Many of the faculty members are familiar fig- ures at various athletic contests, rooting for the Rebels with a vigor equal to that of any student. Nor do they stop at merely being spectators. Many students have reluctantly left an Intramural battle T PLAY field, having lost to his favorite prof or the teacher of his prize crip course. In these sporting contests the professors are as enthusiastic as any student, pausing in his role of hot-buddy only for brief episodes of classes. YS.
