Our Superintendent COLONEL THOMAS C. HUCKABEE has had twenty-five years of experience in the field of education. A native of Alabama, he grew up in Uniontown and then attended Southwestern at Memphis and George Peabody College. He holds the B.A. and M.A. degrees. He taught in Monroe County, Helena in Arkansas, Daltan in Georgia. Pensacola in Florida, at Gulf Coast Military Academy in Mississippi, and at Murphy High School in Mobile. For the past fourteen years he has been with UMS. At UMS he has held many teaching and supervisory positions, such as chemistry teacher. head football coach, assistant principal. Before becoming our superintendent, he was our principal for nine years. He is married to the former Betty Chambers. The Huckabees have a boy and a girl. Our Assistant Superintendent Another native of Alabama is Colonel ROBERT E HANKS who grew up in Frisco City and Troy He received his BS degree at Troy State College and his M A degree at the University of Alabama During the Second World War he sen ed in the United States Navy Before he came to UMS where he has served for fourteen years he taught at Frisco City High School At UMS he has taught Social Studies English Mathematics Law and Economics He has been an assistant football coach head foot ball coach head basketball coach and athletic director Prior to becoming our assistant superintendent he was the supervisor of the physrcal education department in which capacity he worked to strengthen our whole physical education program He is married to the former Katherlin Bush The Hanks have a boy and a girl COL R E HANKS 7 i T5 mill, 9 Y' 5 -. li- Q -. , .i.---- I IH nv I - -...
