XVII LIAM S PAPE Many tributes haye been gn en to Mr Wfright and his influence Vile sclecr one triburc written not many years ago Purposeful men often lead liyes that on thc surface are uneyentful Mr Wrights biography can bc bryan bricfly Born in Greene Springs in Hale County Alabama graduated from the Unixersity of Alabama mox ed to Mobile and in 1893 became principal of the Unix ersity Military ccived an honorary ILD from his Alma Mater was elected president of the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges thc first pre paratory school man cycr to rcccrxc that honor xx as acriyc in religious cnic and cduutioml tffairs lox cd to garden died in Mobile at the age of sixty It can all be said as quickly as that, but it would rake thousands of words to explore his personality' and beliefs, thousands more to assess his influence. There is no real need to do so: the school founded on his personality: his beliefs, endures. is his monument, is the proof that the man of character leaves light and leading. Upon the death of Mr. XVright, Colonel Wfilliam S. Pape became his successor. Colonel Pape believed strongly in the ideals upon which the school had been founded, By the strength of his own personality he led the school forward in spirit of Mr. XVright.
