The scoring was done by Robert Whigham, Roy Shoemaker, Lonnie Cleveland and Bobby York. Charles Smith made the two conver- sions after the touchdown. U. M. S. vs. MURPHY U. M. S. met defeat in the second game of the season at the hands of the highly favored Murphy High School Panthers by a score of T3 to O. In the second period the Panthers picked up a U. M. S. fumble on the Cadets 'I4 yard line and scored. Early in the second half the Panthers marched 40 yards for their final touchdown. The Cadets made a touchdown bid in the third period when they marched from their own 44 to the Murphy 22. The drive ended when Whigham's pass was intercepted. The remainder of the game was ci defensive battle and neither team managed to score against the other. 099: U. M. S. vs. Fairhope The Cadets won the third game of the year over the Fairhope Tigers by the score of T3 to O in Fairhope. On the last play of the first half Roy Shoemaker went off tackle for 64 yards for the first Cadet tally. The other Cadet score came in the fourth period when Robert Whigham raced 30 yards for the touchdown. Charles Smith kicked the point after T.D. Fairhope had threatened in the third period but fumbled and lost their chance. U. M. S. vs. FOLEY Foley scored three touchdowns in the first half to hand the Cadets a 25-6 trounc- ing. In the first quarter Foley scored 6 points, while the Soldiers failed to score. How- ever in the second quarter Early Eastburn intercepted a pass and scored for the Cadets. S. Cadets found a weakness in the Bay Minette line and turned the game into a l8-7 triumph over the Tigers from Baldwin County. Ben Williams ac- counted for two of the three touchdowns scored and Roy Shoemaker added the third tally in the third period. U. M. S. vs. TATE A rugged Tate High School football team defeated the Cadets in an unexpected upset. Tate shocked everyone by scoring three of the first four times they got the ball. Roy Shoemaker came back for the Cadets when he returned the football for an 85 yard touchdown. The Cadets held the Aggies scoreless in the second half and the Cadets scored on a pass from John Carrington to Lonnie Cleveland. The defeat evened the Cadets average to three wins and three loses. 'TOT' U. M. S. vs. VIGOR The Vigor Wolves defeated the Bulldogs of U. M. S. by the score of 25-O in an intra-city game played at Ladd Stadium. The Cadets sparked a drive in the first period only to lose the ball on a fumble. Vigor then took over and pushed across a touch- down. The Wolves crossed the chalk line again once in every quarter to defeat the Cadets 25-O. lt was the first win the Prichard team has scored over U. M. S. U. M. S. vs. CATHOLIC HIGH On November 'l7, the U. M. S. Cadets traveled to Pensacola to hand the Catholic High School of Pensacola a T4-6 defeat. S. in the first half drove down to the Lee four-yard line but couldn't manage to score. After the half the Generals ran up a score of 20-0 to the final score of 32-0. 'IO3' U. M. S. vs. McGILl. The McGill Yellow Jackets had a hard time edging out the Cadets of U. M. S. with a 20-13 win. Both the U. M. S. tallies were scored on passes. In the second quarter John Carrington passed to Robert Whigham for a touchdown. Smith failed to make the extra point and the score was 6-O. The Yellow Jackets quickly retaliated and scored to make the score 7-6. In the third quarter the Jackets added 7 more points to make the score T4-6. U. M. S. failed to score in the third period. In the fourth quarter the Jackets added 6 more points, but a pass from Shoemaker to East- burn set up a Cadet touchdown. Smith added the extra point and the score remained 20-13.
