As repre- sentatives on Student Senate the junior officers serve on various committees and take actix e part in Sen- ate meetings. As a class, working through the stu- dent governing hods , the juniors supported several pohcies. Among those tiiat are now in the process of being put into effect are a faculty-rating s\ stem and increased sidewalks and bicycle walks on campus. 1 he class favored the idea of women cheer- leaders which went into effect last semester. Al- though the motion was not passe d, the junior cla.ss strongly recommended increased parking facilities on W^right Street. The Junior Class officers also attempted to or- ganize and once more hold their Junior Prom, hut due to lack of response on the part of the Junior Class the project was cancelled. i iSfe Robert Evans, president; Aidib Bfanchard. rice prendent sectetaiytiedii/iei ; Eugene Frank Clark, ptesident : Marilyn Kearns, sectetary-tieasurer; James Edwards, vice president Sophomore Class The Sophomore Class officers serve as the link of the class with student government. The presi- dent, vice president, secretary-treasurer, and three senators, who are members of the Student Senate, direct the wishes of the Sophomore Class to the administration. This group carries on correspondence with other colleges and universities concerning the par- ticular problems of underclassmen and how these problems can be met by efficient administration. The Student Senate this \ear is stud\ ing possibilities for setting up academic courses for freshmen orien- tation and for activity leadership training. .Moreover, the Sophomore Class officers plan and execute programs for the class as a whole. With six representatives serving on the Senate and various Senate committees, the Sophomores were sure of reliable representation. 223
