1 ' 1 mm a -A l Mr oclal tudie l One of the major facets of a social studies class at Uni is the emphasis teachers place on student participation. Contrary to popular opinion, the purpose of oral reports and role-playing is not to force the student to suffer the horrors of facing a hostile classroom, but to give the student insight into the workings of the world outside the classroom doors. By playing the t role of a congressman attempting to pass a bill in the House, or that of a worker on strike it is hoped that the student will gain a greater under- standing of government processes. l Wim N-wg , I E 75 ,, i l li lst 'lil t 3 A - rw: .
