Few signed up for the voluntary military training program. However on two other fronts the work of defense was gaining favor, these being the CAA flying program for men and the Red Cross knittmg and nursrg program for women. Firlt enrollment in the CAA totaled 30 men and later increased rapidly. Evidence of pro- British support was the knitting school, which produced many a sock and cap for RAh fliers. HELL!
