seniORs ALTHOUGH they will go down in history with the slogan 1950—The Golden Year, the Senior class will eternally be known as the class of '50 with no gifty! Troubled four long years with this giftless problem, they finally settled on a worthwhile scholar- ship fund as their donation to their alma mater. A very active class, the Seniors were noted for their treasury remaining in the black for four years. Full of initiative, the Seniors organized not only Gavel and Quill honor society for those majoring in class activities, but also began the time-honored, back- breaking tradition of the Sophomore paper drive. They co-sponsored the annual Spring Sing with Glee Club, and showed the world something new in Senior Extravaganzas. Although noted for their very in- formal party-time council meetings, they concluded their college days with an outstanding, well-planned Senior Week. Filled with many nostalgic and happy memories, Senior Week included farewell banquets at the Claremont, the Senior Ball at the Turf Club, and the steps of Wheeler were forsaken by all for the traditional Beach Day on the shores at Santa Cruz.
