September ASG vice-president failed to register for the fall term; the position was never filled. Public Safety announced new traffic rules. Union Week was topped off by a bicycle rally. The Razorbacks defeated USC 22-7, and Dennis Winston was named National Lineman of the Week. The UofA named their first human relations director. President Bishop held his first of many dialogues with students, faculty and staff. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Michael Murphy performed at Barnhill. Student Senate passed a resolution condemning Presi¬ dent Ford ' s pardon of ex-president Richard Nixon. UofA enrollment hit a record high. A rise in theatre prices prompted a student boycott that lasted one day; the prices went down — some. Marshall Tucker and J. J. Cale performed to a wild crowd at Barnhill. 31

August George Cole field was completed. ICF Cheerleader Camp hit the UofA campus with thousands of screaming teenagers. The Physics Department sponsored the third annual student science training program. IFC rush was successful and loud. Fayetteville ' s population started to pick up. Registration — fun! 30

October Flames destroyed the Lafayette house. Obscene language printed in the Traveler drew criticism from students, state legislators and the Board of Publi¬ cations. Sigma Nu and Sadie rode again. Reader ' s Theatre presented Will Rogers. Bud Campbell, the Voice of the Razorbacks , died in a car accident on Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock. Dave Woodman, former Channel 4 Sports Director, filled the vacancy. Wattstax and Sleuth were shown at the Union theatre. A speed radar was established under the tunnel of the Union. Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek , spoke to capacity crowds in the Union ballroom. President Bishop abolished a $50 parkin g fee for dis¬ abled students. Texas Week came and left without any knowing it. Dinah Gail Gant was crowned Miss B.A.D. and re¬ ceived the Miss Congeniality Award. The Drama Department drew standing-room-only crowds with Marat Sade. 32
