ENGINEER'S CLUB The Engineers Club, the controlling body of the engineers, is one of the most active student organizations and is also one of the most democratic. Here each engineer is on a footing of equality with every other man in college. Perhaps the greatest achievement of the engineers to date was the work they did on Gates Hall during the college expansion program in 1935. The stone for the entire building was cut to the correct size and shape and laid by the engineers. A perfect example ol stone carving is the name in stone, “Gates Hall”, and the lintel whereon is carved the Lamp of Knowledge and the twining vine. The club was inactive during the war, but was revived in 1945. Since that time the club, by promoting its ideals of good-fellowship and service has developed a perfect esprit de corps, which has enabled it to complete a number of worthy projects. This was made possible only by the close cooperation and hearty support of every engineer on the campus.
