PHYSICAL EDUCATION The Physical Education department of Arkansas A. and M. College has pushed a wider, more varied program this year under the direction of Mr. Stewart Ferguson, Mrs. L. O. Wallick, and J. P. Leveritt. With the aid of the intramural council, a group of team captains and student coaches, the department has been able to extend the benefits of physical education to nearly every student in the college. Such sports, stunts, and games as soccer, touch football, softball, basketball, wrestling, box- ing, ping pong, tumbling, adagio, tennis, badminton, aerial darts, folk dancing, fencing, volleyball, and archery were in- cluded in the program. Four definite forms of Physical Education were used: PERVERT I WALLICK 1. History and principles of Health and Physical Education. 2. Intercollegiate Athletics. 3. Rhythmics and gymnastics. 4. Games and sports. Special activities were tumbling trips to El Dorado and Smackover; participation in the A. A. U. Wrestling meet in Little Rock; entrance in play day at Arkansas Polytechnic College, Russellville.

Ira Jones, Charles Colvin, John Scritchfield, P. M. Cheshier, Frank Carson, Jewell Gryder, Benny Gaston. The “A” Club was reorganized this year and selected Terry Feild as its leader. Membership in the group is offered to all football players who earn the letter ‘“A’’. The purpose of the club is to Promote interest among the players and students. The members of the club each year make and enforce a rule that no letter, exceot the letter “A” may be worn on the campus. With the successful reorganization, we know that it will continue to be a thriving club throughout the coming years. kk
