can FOREWDRD oo The University of Arkansas Medical Center is now a reality. lVlany hours of work and planning are behind it and much yet remains to be done. A concentrated effort on the part of all concerned will soon accomplish what is desired-a medical education program in Arkansas second to none in the nation. In publishing this edition of the CADUCEUS the staff has attempted to recreate some of the advances made during 1957. Much time has gone into its preparation-often to the detriment of other obligations. Our sole reward will be the knowledge that you consider the result well done. The value of a book such as this is chiefly a sentimental one. There are those who treasure the experiences that a yearbook will recall-others who mark it as evidence of an education hard-earned.
