Arizona Ambassadors Arizona Ambassadors worked with the Office of Student Recruitment to enhance student enrollment at the Universi- ty of Arizona. Comprised of a variety of UA students, this organization brought a better understanding of the universi- ty to prospective students. The Ambassadors gave future undergraduates information about the UA from the stu- dent ' s point of view. Ambassadors conducted tours and answered the many questions asked about college life. Arizona Historical Games Society The Arizona Historical Games Society simulated histori- cal and economic problems throughout the academic year. They analyzed historical events and their implications. Many of the society ' s members were history majors. Members played war games and science fiction along with fantasy games. The club held discussions on current mili- tary and economics situations world-wide. The Games Soci- ety approached serious problems through the games they played while maintaining a sense of ' joie de vivre. ' HISTORIC GAMES SOCIETY FRONT ROW: Nick Buchholz. Angel Flight Angel Flight, a professional service honorary, chose two service organizations to work with each year. This year, Angel Flight worked with the American Red Cross through sponsorship of blood drives, CPR classes and educational health programs in the public schools. They also worked with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to combat drunk driv- ing and alcoholism. ANGEL FLIGHT FRONT ROW: Ruth Grayson, Steve Valdez. John Steinbeck, Sue Wohlhart, Caroline Jaap. Amerind Club Dealing with international cultural affairs, Amerind Club, consisting of native Americans spanning across the United States, prides itself. The club had over forty members and promoted social interaction among new and returning stu- dents. As for social events, Amerind sponsored the Annual Miss Indian University of Arizona Pageant, the Spring Fling fry bread booth and a myriad of various pow-wows. Arizona Turkish Folklore Organization The Arizona Turkish Folklore Organization was founded to assist in developing a degree of cooperation and interac- tion between its membership and often Arizona students, promoting a better understanding and greater knowledge of Turkish culture and Turkey as a nation. Weekly folk dance sessions, provided for UA students, highlighted the organi- zation. At the annual banquet, where nationwide entertain- ment was brought in, the folkdance group had the opportu- nity of performing.
