Coach Loula shouts encouragement to the Panther line. 4. A prophetic and successful sign proclaimed a long awaited victory over Moline. 5. Maybe it's not the biggest thing in the world for many teenagers, but when they look back on it several years from now they'll realize the rare opportunity they had to share in such a major historic event. Let’s hope it will be the kind of year which can record where the American dream was reborn and where mankind could live in harmony with his earth as well as his fellow man. Bicentennial

A new year and new spirit—the will to win—spirited pep assemblies at both buildings— good skits—bold football players who believed in themselves—varsity players going into the audience to get the students to cheer louder—it all helped—jubilation in beating Moline—first time in 10 years—regaining the Blackwood Trophy—Brian Mosley enjoyed putting the hurt to the Maroons for the second straight year—as a sophomore he kicked a last second field goal to beat them and this year he converted another pressure packed final PAT—after a penalty nullified the first try—giving the Panthers a 21-20 victory—followed by a victory lap by the team—with delirious fans still cheering—enjoying the long awaited victory.
