THE LAST FULL MEASURE This painting of Jesus standing over the men in the lifeboat hangs on the wall of the Elliot M. See Room located in Wiley Hall. It says a lot about life at sea both today and in the past. Every week during chapel services the Regiment prays for the safe return of all those at sea and this painting serves to remind us that our safe return may depend on a Watchful Eye looking over us. “One hand for the ship and one hand for yourself,” is the saying we all keep in mind while at sea. Let us continue to pray for those at sea and to keep in mind those that the sea has taken from us. “Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm hath bound thy restless wave, Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep Its own appointed limits keep, O hear us when we cry to thee For those in peril on the sea! Lord stand beside all those who sail Our merchant ships in storm and gale, In peace and war their watch they keep On every sea, on thy vast deep.
