Every period in Room 210 seniors could be found working hard at chemistry taught them by C. M. Haag. At the right we look in on the sixth-period class. The sixth-period trigonometry class listens intently as their teacher, Julia Brooke, explains a difticult problem. Popular especially with the boys planning to be engineers, the class met in Room 106. Each year the art classes grow more and more crowded and it is no surprise, with the variety of mediums available for work. Cer- amics and woodwork, together with the usual sketching, poster-making, and painting, attract- ed many artistic students to Room 306. Here we see a group of seniors sketching as the art in- structor, Robert A. Lyon, gives them a few tips. OUR SENIOR YEAR WAS UNE UF STUDY .... ln the future as we look back on our senior year we will remember all the diFFerent classes where, surrounded by the friends we had known since the beginning of our high school days, we studied and prepared for our respective chosen vccations, varying anywhere from college to a career in the Navy. At the lett, we see the fifth period problems ot democracy class, taught by Guy E. Rider, catching up on world news in the Amerfcan Ob- zerver, which each P. D. class read as a weekly assignment. In the recently renovated office practice room Charles R. Kalmanek coaches some com- mercial students in the use of modern oftice equipment. The distributive education course, headed by L. C. Dodson, grows more popular each year. Here the "D. E." class, including some North and South Union students, picks up some pcint- ers from a lccal store's personnel manager.
