Band and Chorus Present Winter Concert The Chorus and Band members combined efforts this year to present many entertaining programs. The cliorus sang at a UCA meeting, for several convocations, and joined the band for several programs. The band also played for most home basketball games. Both groups are under the direction of Mr. William Rayer. Student Council Sponsors Summer Dances The Student Council met once a month to discuss school problems with President Pat Dicken presiding. Sponsor Larry Hodge helped to organize noon activities, plan sum- mer dances, and sell ink pens with the 1969-70 basketball schedule on them. Other topics discussed were school poli- cy and setting up the 1970-71 school calendar of events. New members are elected by the student body at the end of each year and new officers are elected at the first meet- ing of the year. Other officers for the year were Melissa Mallo, Vice-President; Gina Giffen, Secretary:and Rhonda Renyer, Treasurer. Students dance to the music of the Made in U.S.A. at one of the summer dances sponsored by the Student Council.

The Future Homemakers of America began the school year with the initiation of new members. These ceremonies were conducted in the barn at the Kirkpatrick residence. After that the club met once a month with such programs as hair styling by Miss Debbie Brack, a Union alumnus. Mrs. Rosa- lyn Sheets demonstrated cake decorating to the club. The annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the FHA, took place in the Town Grove for community children. The club also prepared and served a supper for the Faculty at the March meeting. A St. Patrick ' s skit was presented to the Faculty at the end of the program. The club was sponsored by Mrs. Sue Thompson. The officers for 1969-70 were Suzanne Mc- Creary, President; CoUette Thobe, Vice-President; Sandy Mcintosh, Secretary; and Ada Taylor, Treasurer. 20
