Sixty girls from junior high to seniors, supported their team 100 percent with more spirit than the gym could hold. Collecting pop bottles was a very successful money making project. The money was contributed to buying paint, paper, brushes, and other supplies to make spirit posters. The cheerblock formed at all the home games and traveled to two away games. At the final hallgame se- nior cheerblock members and their parents were honored, each receiving a blue and white flower in memory of their last Rocket Season. They have tried unsuccessfully to reach their goal, but lack of money has not dampened their enthusiasm. They are dete- mined to go to Mexico and are doing whatever is nec- essary to achieve that goal, such as serving dinner be- fore every home varsity basketball game. All work and no play would make Spanish Club a dull organi- zation so they had their annual initiation in October at a combined hayride and wiener roast. The Spanish classes enjoy writing skits and per- forming for the other classes. They are increasing comprehension and speaking through use of the lan- guage lab. v , A Spanish problems are easily overcome with Mrs. Oliver's help. Paul Williams and Hogor Nichols 1' in " . si " 1 mb, Q. it WHSU in Seniors Memory Filled Moments As the "74" seniors return to their last year of high school they realize the past eleven years have created beautiful memories and inseparable friend- ships with fellow classmates. The khaki green walls no longer represent a prison like atmosphere but in- stead offer a sense of security. The realization of the final year was launched late in November when se- nior pictures arrived. During the basketball season, the seniors proved their unity as a class by winning the coveted spirit stick for the first ballgame. As the class gathered to make decisions for graduation and other senior events, they felt togetherness as they planned for their final moments at UHS. They chose burgundy caps and gowns with pink roses as a complementary accent. "Senioritis" came early along with fire alarms, unscheduled parties and hatday. During senior week, each individual per- sonality showed through as we dressed as farmers. kids, and a mimic of the days when we were still young. The month of May was filled with sentimen- tal memories from the Senior Banquet, Prom, and Honor Day thus concluding the 1974 Senior year as one of being unforgettable.
