They are the faces of the new gym teachers, Mrs. Anne Brown and Miss Irene Hettner. Under their guidance, the girls have participated in such sports as hockey, soccer, basketball, and deck tennis. Besides teaching so many girls in such a va- riety ot sports, Mrs, Brown and Miss Hetfner acted as advisers to the girls' Leaders' Club- Mrs. Brown, head of the senior leaders, and Miss Heffner of the junior leaders. THE GREAT DAY IS HERE , , ., Coach Cobb receivesa silver loving cup at the Thanksgiving Day half-time ceremonies. Is . I Co-captain Ralph Weiland presents a floral tribute from the team to Mrs. Cobb. On Thanksgiving Day, Coach Harold Ty Cobb fielded his thirty-fifth U-E football team. During the first two quarters of play, the U-E Tornado and the Central Bulldogs battled to a scoreless tie. Between halves, the U-E Marching Band traced the highlights of Mr. Cobb's career from his Maine boyhood through the marriage of Mr. Cobb and his lovely wife, Mrs. Helen Cobb. Half-time ceremonies reached a climax when Mr. Cobb entered the stadium to receive his well-deserved acclaim from the alumni, students, and faculty of U-E. Mr. Raymond Mills, a U-E alumnus, presented a silver loving cup from the U-E alumni, Michael Beirne, a set of fine leather luggage from the U-E stu- dent body. Joyce English presented a floral bouquet to Mrs. Cobb. Charles F. Johnson, president of Endicott-Johnson, sent congratu- lations to Mr. Cobb in recognition of his thir- ty-five years of service to the youth of the community. To make Ty Cobb Day a complete suc- cess, the U-E Tigers pulled out a close I6-Ol victory over Central. HE DID IT AGAlN We .St The game is over, U-E has won, and faithful fans and team members carry Ty off the field in gratitude for his thirty-five years of successful coaching.
