The record of the Golden Cords for '72 would be incomplete if we failed to recognize one of Union ColIege's greater assets: Miss Marie Ander- son. Miss Anderson received her B.A. degree from Union College in 1932 and did graduate work at North- western University and the Univer- sity of California. She has been at Union as registrar and counselor since 1944 and has served the past six years as academic advisor. Stamp collecting is her favorite past-time, while growing softball sized tomatoes in the summer is her seasonal joy. This will be Miss Anderson's last year with Union College. She is retiring upon termination of the school year. In these pictures, we see the typical Miss Anderson always ready to give advice, always ready to serve and always with a smile. It is because of this unfailing willingness to serve student and college that we dedicate the Golden Cords of 1972 to Miss Anderson. Although we may not meet you in an official capacity in the future Miss Anderson, we sincerely hope we will continue to see your radiant smile on our campus. 1.0! There were the good days and the feelings of accomplishment as the book took shape. Of course, there was the other side of the coin when negatives were blanks, copy was late and slides became useless because of a scratch that couldn't be cropped out. The best thing was the group of people all working together for one end - the production of the 1972 Golden Cords. Thanks goes to Laurence Downing, yearbook advisor and Roy Crawford, financial advisor. f Notes of appreciation are sent to Brian Smith and the personnel at Walsworth Printing Company. Their co- operation, helpful hints, advice and expert production have helped make the 1972 Golden Cords what it is. A special thanks goes to the fantastic photography staff, especially to Abner Castanon for the many long hours he spent in the darkroom. Thanks to Ellen Feather for the many hours she spent on the yearbook and for her loyalty in sticking with us to the end: and to Vance Reed for the excellent job he did in designing and doing the art work for the cover. My special thanks goes to all the staff who have been so patient and so helpful in putting this yearbook to- gether. Also, I couldn't have done this without the co-operation of the students, faculty and administration of Union College. In the beginning, this book was an aspiration, but thanks to all the help and co-operation l've received, this yearbook has been successfully completed.
